Actually, I had a thirst for writing.
Blogging is something I started on my own initiative.
I haven't done many things on my own initiative in my life.

Lacan said that humans desire the desires of others.
I lived my life doing only what others wanted.

It was profitable and stable.
It wasn't easy to make money doing what I wanted to do.
Fortunately, the development job I chose by chance was enjoyable.

As my life became stable, my dreams began to stir and emerge.
I want to make a living doing something related to writing.

At one time, I thought that if I wrote on a blog, my writing would improve and I could realize my dreams.
But I didn't do it enthusiastically or enjoyably back then.
I left it dead for almost a few years.

But the times are demanding writing more and more.
You can live without writing, but
there are huge benefits to writing.

People nowadays don't read or write well.
In this day and age, writing is a golden opportunity to change my position from consumer to producer.

Various platforms have emerged, and it's become possible to make a living from it.
Of course, there are many people who already make a living blogging on Google or Tistory.

I used to just envy those people.
Now, more and more platforms need producers.

Taking YouTube as an example, most of the 50 million citizens are consumers. The proportion of producers is not that high.
The same goes for blogs.

X, Threads, Instagram, all of them require writing.
YouTube creators also emphasize writing.
There are even AI services that create videos from scripts only.

The bottom line is not Buckingham (revealing my age) but
writing is fundamental.

Through writing, we can transform from ordinary people to extraordinary people.
I, who used to only envy others, have started to record something to try something. Blogging is the beginning of that.

Through writing, you can prepare for retirement.

Soon, Korea will enter a low-growth, aging society.
We all have to retire, whether we want to or not.

At one time, developers were expected to retire at 45 and become fried chicken vendors.
Fortunately, the retirement age has been pushed back a lot.
If you do well, you can work until you're 65.
You never know, as we enter an aging society, we may be able to continue working in our existing fields until our 70s or 80s.

Whether you retire early or retire at your full age,
blogging is a better option than any other work after retirement.
At least for me, it is.

You could get a real estate license and open a real estate agency.
You could get a barista certification, work at a cafe, or start a business.
On the other hand,
you might be able to succeed in investing and forming a pipeline.
You might have enough pension to travel every day and play golf.
Some people might dream of that. But,

Would you really be happy if you could travel every day without worrying about money?
I don't think so.

These are the examples of life after retirement that my meager imagination can offer.

I want to live by writing on a blog.
I want to enjoy my retirement, doing whatever I want to do as much as I want.
I dream of a sustainable life, with a pension as a base and making money through writing.

I want to exercise every morning and go to the library to work.
I want to live reading and writing at the library.

I want to take my laptop to Starbucks at lunchtime and write blog posts while eating a salad.
It's fun just to imagine.

It's more enjoyable and fun than any travel or play.
There's no reason to hesitate in doing something this enjoyable.

I'm planning to do it before I quit or retire.
I'm going to prepare from now on and make my blog a solid support for my future.
