We tend to regret more the things we didn't do than the things we tried.
We don't regret the things we tried and failed at, but we do regret the things we didn't even try.
This quote appears in Ryu Si-hwa's book, <My Life Isn't What I Imagined>.
Follow silently the strange pull of what you truly love.
Then you will not lose your way.
Rumi
Follow the pull of what you love. Then you won't lose your way.
My desire to write is the reason why I post on my blog every day.
It's something I gave up on in the past because it wasn't considered profitable.
I didn't think I could make money by reading and writing books.
Some people do make money through writing.
Marketing, particularly blog marketing, is a prime example.
Blog posts translate into money when you manage blogs for others or sell services or goods offline.
People pay when you understand their questions and needs and provide them with answers and solutions to their objections.
Money is given by others. They give it when they are happy. They pay when you relieve their discomfort. What can I offer you?
How can my writing help you?
What kind of writing keeps us going on this path without getting tired?
Why are we writing here every day?
I wonder if it's not about pursuing the value of human existence rather than wealth and glory.
I think we write to gain the assurance that we are valuable simply by existing, that we deserve to be loved, and that we are loved.
Whether we are talented or not, whether we write well or poorly, we are alive here now, and life goes on.
We always try to get the urgent things out of the way first. And we put off the things we really want to do until we have time. We postpone things that we love and that are important to our lives because they don't make money.
I wanted to continue studying and writing introspective pieces, but I put it off because it wasn't profitable.
This is just the beginning.
I'm going to try to do at least one thing each day that I consider important.
I'm going to study slowly. It's something I'll be doing for the rest of my life, so I'm going to gradually build habits, little by little.
Writing and studying foreign languages. Running and swimming. Weight training.
I'm just going to steadily accumulate the things I like and love.
I'm going to do them without putting them off, whether they make money or not.
I want to live without any more regrets, so I'm going to try to do a little bit every day.
Please watch me.
Thank you for reading this long post.
